  • GEAR: Xpander & PPG Wave

    SPECIAL FLOURO DISPLAY EDITION!

Ask anyone - 'What 80's Monstersynth would You currently do time for?' and they will rattle off 5-6 names.. Here now 2 of them - albeit the PPG would require the Expander Keyboard and Waveterm-B to warrent Larceny/Felony/Murderdem, You have to submit to it's awesome crunchy 8-bit wavetable nonsense. It Is blessed (ver 2.3) with MIDI, DinSYnc, a Sequencer, MultiTibmbral Mode, Various CV/Gate Stuffs, and a custom Interface for doing custom waves with the Waveterm as input.. OMFG the waveterm.. So cool it actually caused radiation burns, and needed the operator to wear a lead waistcoat.. WARNING: the PPG-Wave is made of Granite & Uranium and will break Your back.

Speaking of Lead, the Xpander (not to be confused with the OB-?-expander add-on box thing for [who cares] synth also by Oberhiem) Was Half a Matrix 12, MultiTimbral also (diff sounds on diff midi channels and on different outputs!) 6 parts of complexly constructed Digi/Analog hybrid synth. A bit clunky, but customizable internal routing - like LEVER --> ANY VALUE IN THE PATCH KINDA and even EVENT GENERATOR --> EVENT GENERATOR --> WHEREVER routing that can make sounds that constantly evolve! It's laggy, Bloated, Slow to edit, but Reliable, and the very very last word in Analogue under digital control, for experimenters. Get one, and just Stare at it. Then Stare at it some more.. It's OK, You are allowed, You own it now. Go on, Touch it. Stroke it's Complex Beauty, and drink in the glow from it's displays.. Then Spend 9000+ hours making prog stab sounds that are capable of thought.

Another delicious Press ad for the WAVE - this time with it's Rare-as-hell expander keyboard!! mmm.. backbreaking..

Fans of the WAVE can experience it in recent times by getting a MONOWAVE, or a CHAMELEON, or even a BLACET RESEARCH MINIWAVE.. All have similer PPG-esque wavetable rawness..
