  • [2021] Unreal Tournament UT2003 NEW Master Server online.

    If You are a fan of UNREAL TOURNAMENT stillin 2023, specifically for Unreal Tournament 2003, aka UT2003 - the Server We have been running for 20 years is still online.

    The MASTER SERVER that connects us all together has been dead for ages, but now there is a new one, thanks to http://openspy.net

    To connect to *my* Servers directly, make a FAVOURITE with these ip addresses and ports:

    Code:
    93:107:154:27:7777
    93:107:154:27:7899
    93:107:154:27:7767
    These will connect You to our MUTANT server, our CTF server and our STOCK server.

    Any additional files You need to play should be downloaded automatically when You connect, but you will need to have patched to the latest version, and installed the EPIC BONUS PACK

    Get the EPIC BONUS PACK 1 here: http://mrspring.info/unreal/UT2003-epicbonuspackone.zip
    Get the (Final) Unreal Tournament 2003 Patch 2225 for Windows here: http://mrspring.info/unreal/ut2003-winpatch2225.zip
    Get the (Final) Unreal Tournament 2003 Linux Patch 2225 here: http://mrspring.info/unreal/linux-patches/

    If You want to see all the UT2003 servers in the OPENSPY network, You should edit Your UT2003.ini (in Your /System Folder in the UT2003 install folder, or in a hidden folder called .ut2003 in Your /Home) and change this entry as below:

    [IpDrv.MasterServerLink]
    LANPort=11777
    LANServerPort=10777
    CurrentMasterServer=1
    MasterServerPort[0]=28902
    MasterServerAddress[0]=utmaster.openspy.net
    MasterServerPort[1]=28902
    MasterServerAddress[1]=utmaster.openspy.net
    MasterServerPort[2]=0
    MasterServerAddress[2]=
    MasterServerPort[3]=0
    MasterServerAddress[3]=
    MasterServerPort[4]=0
    MasterServerAddress[4]=
    This will allow You to see all the new/old servers as they Join the network.

    If You have Lost or damaged Your Install Discs for UT2003, You can download them here: http://mrspring.info/1/ut2003.zip

    This is the 3 install CDs, there is no 'crack' or 'keygen' or registration keys included - You can likely find a key that will work if You google for one if You have lost Your printed manual. For a Linux install, You need to make a text file called 'cdkey' and place it in Your /System folder. It should contain the CD Key in this form (upper case inc. the - signs) "7L3QM-KRHQ6-A4EEG-WNQ4U" and nothing else. Any old key should work.

    A word of warning: There are several things out there claiming to be 'keygen' for UT2003. Do not use these if they appear to be newer than the 2002/3 season, or are larger in size than about 50kb - they are all 'on the fly' generated Trojan packs, and are fake. You do not NEED a keygen, use any key you can find, as there should be no checks during launching with the now-gone Atari master server.

    Openspy supports a shedload of multiplayer games for PC, PSP, PS2 etc. - visit them and check it all out!! http://openspy.net

    If You are interested in running UT2003 today, You may have issues on a multi-processor fast machine. Try starting the game from a CMD or Terminal session to see errors. You will likely have to set affinity to a single core.

    In Windows, edit the properties for UT2003, in DETAILS use SET AFFINITY to lock it to 1 processor.

    In Linux use something like this to launch it: taskset -c 0 /home/user/ut2003/ut2003

    If it runs too fast in linux, help the timing by adding a speed switch like this: -CPUSPEED=3200

    For a server, in Linux, You can use the ucc binary, but launch it using a script like this:

    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    while :
    do

    taskset -c 1 ./ucc-bin server [name of map.ut2]?mutator=mutatorname.mutatorname,anothermutator.mutatorname?GameStats=False?MinPlayers=8 -timelimit=10 --ini=Default.ini -nohomedir -log=dedicated.log Multihome=[box ip address on Your network] port=7777

    done
    ofc, leave out the "mutator=mutatorname.mutatorname,anothermutato r.mu tatorname?" if You are not running any mutators! The ucc-bin lives in the /System folder after you install everything using the installer .sh on the last disk of the UT2003 package.

    You WILL need nVidia graphics drivers to run UT2003 as a client, but not as a server.

    You will also need to make sure ports are forwarded by Your router to the box the server is on, and open these ports on the firewall of the host box. They will be 7777-7788 (or whatever You chose to use +1 for Ping), 27900, 5080, 28902 and 42292 i think - i forget why, but google up ports for UT2003 server and read why - in fact, it's all out there if You search for it. I bet half of those ports are for GAMESPY and Atari and are not needed.. BUT, your serverport +1 and openspy's 28902 port will be needed for sure.

      I found the 'server only' packages for UT2003 here: https://gentoo.snt.utwente.nl/pub/games/UT2003/ Please use the links below if this server dies..

      Windows & Linux servers are also here: http://mrspring.info/unreal/servers/

      You should install all the Linux patches for any version of the Linux server or Client pre-2225: http://mrspring.info/unreal/linux-patches/

          When setting up a server in linux, if when you open files on your linux machine in something like VIM or MCEDIT You see a load of "^M" bullshit in the files, you need to install a package called "dos2unix" - then in a terminal, issue: "dos2unix *.*" in each folder in turn to clean out all these pesky ^M

          This is especially annoying if You are trying to edit Your .ini fiels and they were previously opened on a windows system

          Watch the output as You do this, as You may see "skipped as it is a binary file" for something that is clearly NOT a binary file, like an .ini - You will have to edit these by hand, and remove the garbage characters..

              [09/23] Just had the dreaded SEGMENTATION FAULT on my Native Linux install, and there does not seem to be a cure under the latest conditions, aside from making a VM of XP or whatever.

              So, VM it is, to a Windows 10 container (1909), and the install is perfect.

              You need to install the Game, then the EPIC BONUS PACK, then the latest Patch. Then, delete the User.ini and UT2003.ini from then System folder of the install, and run the game. Should be fine.

              If You get errors like NO VIDEO or whatever, install the patch again. Try to use an .exe version of the patch (it is windows after all)..

              Remember to change the section in your .ini to enable Gamespy!! (see above)
