As we all know those nasty wall powersupplies have potential to kill you or your hard earned equipment.
Beware switchmode powersupplies.. (a WHAT ?)
The ones without an physical transformer.Just a pcb with a load of coloured yokes that go bang easily..

Anyway, was thinking of how many routers I have had killed by mains flashovers here in summer.. 1 down every yr. Dunno prob musical gear has same shite power supplies in there too...

Right enuf rant, read link and hope your gear is protected ? behold the "SMPS "

Yeh, most audio gear now has an external PSU.. Easier to fix i expect - you just feck it in the bin when it fails.. I have had a 2 year bout of fixing internal PSUs on things, and it's not that difficult TBH.. Definatly prefer internal oldschool Transformer/Cap gang to the featherlight Switchers.. they cause such hash on nearby equipment too.. yuck.. cheap, but shite..
