I just realised, some very strange things actually work perfectly in Linux (using WINE > 1.1.6)
There are lots of lists at http://appdb.winehq.org/ but just FYI, i have dbPoweramp running here nearly 2x faster then in windows on the same machine! lol! So, for example, to convert a 2 hour .ts mp2 stream ripped from satellite into mp3, plus downsample it from 48k to 44.1 took 11 mins in windows, and 6 mins in Linux
