have my MD pluged into the line in of my pc... and the sound is coming through the speakers of the pc but soundforge doesn't seem to be recording the data.. and everything is unmuted in the audio settings..

may sound too obvious, but have you the correct input set in soundforge?
use cubase if soundforge isnt doin the trick
routing is less hit and miss in it -
yeah everything is set up correctly.. followed a tutorial on it and all just to make sure..

try looking at the basic Audio settings for windows (icon next to the clock) and change the PROPERTIES to be RECORDING, then make sure you have the LINE selected, and nothing else.. make sure the device selected is a REAL device, and not some "mapper" bullshit..Comment
