There were 'earlybird' tickets last year for the fairyhouse gig, and they did very poorly.. In fact, up until the thursday before, the ticket sales were SO poor, it was looking like 2000 people would be there, so anyone they thought they could bully was told 'you are getting 100quid, take it or leave it', and as usual in these cases, people's egos got the better of them, and they stupidly agreed to play for 100quid! Any decent promoter KNOWS that the non-headliners are surfing on ego alone, and after telling their ma/mates/bird they are playing, the LAST thing they want is to be excluded. Sadly, this means there is a queue of gimps to play for them AGAIN this year, despite the disrespect they were shown last year..
There were also crazy 100sterling advance tickets for the ******/better lineup 2-day thing at nuts corner in antrim - where you had no choice but to buy the full 2-dayer if you wanted to see ******.. Nearer the date, you could suddenly buy a '****** ONLY' ticket - makeing a mockery of the forced 2-day tickets they had pushed up to then..
All-in-all, far too much baggage for my likeing.
I await with baited breath the lineup announcement, as i gather from the talk in the industry this week, they are contacting anyone they can to try and build the lineup and share the load.. The only act i KNOW has confirmed is Dave Clarke, who we will assist with a broadcast of his WHITENOISE radio show on the night (11pm to 1am our time - midnight to 2 in holland).
PLSS, Will it happen?

Latest spoof circulating:
2 day PL on the tarmac outside fairyhouse (ie: in the carpark) with ****** on the first night, and a mini festival on the second day & night..
The tarmac is a good idea, as even if it pisses with rain there won't be the mud to deal with.. So, that's a MUCH more happy vision..
Sadly, we looked at this last year for the Wintersession, and met with fierce resistance from the suits, so unless something fundamental has changed with the County Council, Residents and Police, this is still pie in the clouds...
Having said THAT, i do like Pie. EVERYONE likes Pie. Pie is like Cake, but not as sweet.Leave a comment:

Yeh, well, who knows what will happen this year.. At this stage, we will have very little choice what to play at/go to/support, as right now we have 2 things with actual tickets on sale and promotion underway: Jack & Shit, and Jack just left town..
Edit: News just in, Shit has announced it won't be running anything this year either..
So that leaves us with, er, nothing.
In the face of NOTHING happening, then yes, A Planet Love Gig would be better then NOTHING, as even sitting in a lake of effluent is preferable to nothing. No, wait, that isn't better then nothing, because nothing doesn't involve paying to wallow in shite..Leave a comment:
