    Live Feed Testing (look at the panel!)

    Thanks to the tireless investigation by AS400XL and your humble narrator, there is now a semi-regular feed testing..

    You can click on the link to the left to start it.. Or, copy & paste the link into VLC (open network connection..) or WINAMP (play url..) if you cannot get it to play easily..

    Various messers on the board will be helping with the testing, there is no plan, but i suspect a few live feeds from studio(s) and bedroom(s) are to be expected..

    Let's see where this goes..

    OK, we have been working hard, well, AS400XL has been, i have been working less hard, on sussing this crap out..

    The win so far is: Using WINAMP and the STREAMING PLUGIN to send a stream to the server..

    There are instructions to set up the plugin here..

    Basicly, You start WINAMP, then go to PREFERENCES, DSP, Click on the Streaming plugin, and a window opens - you put in the details for the server You want to uplaod to, and set it up, and You are away.. You can play stuff from WINAMP (easy) or select the Input of Your Soundcard (for decks etc.. Live shows)

    And, it WORKS..

    we average 7k/sec for AAC+ 48k downlink - thats 420k a min, thats 2510k an hour - about 2MB per hour of show You do..

    You need a decent program to listen to an AAC+ stream though, like WINAMP or VLC although most modern PCs can play it if You just go to:

    Now, the fun - The server is there, and it's working, so we are going to try and keep something going whenever we can.. I will feed shit from the studio(s) when i am working for the lulz, and we will see about streaming the 2FM shows from here in decent quality (from satellite) for those that have problems with the official feeds, and with only 7k upload for AAC+, i can see us doing broadcasts from gigs using out Mobiles & 3g!!

    So, if YOU want to do a show, or fill some time on the server, PM 'playthatbeat' or 'AS400XL', and they will give You the magic passwords and shite to get You online, maybe.

    This is OF COARSE pirate radio, so keep this in mind:

    * NO CENSORSHIP
    * NO RULES
    * NOBODY LISTENING EXCEPT YOUR MATES

    LET'S DO THIS!!
