Lol.. We were only talking about the 6-2-6 era this week, in the light of the 'changes' at 2FM.. It's amazing how we had the nation by the balls for 6-2-6, and how the thinking and style was copied by everyone from then on, and even more interesting how rapidly the 6-2-6 team was dismantled and swept under the carpet.. With mature recollection, We were ROBBED and treated very poorly, but we DID spawn a generation. (sigh)

Now then, WHO WANTS TO WIN SOME CASH (etc.)

yes, the 6 2 6 era was a beautiful era. I now realise the very concept of electronic music on in the most prime time slot of the week on the countrys main music radio station for such a big chunk was a substantial thing.
I was young (early teens) then and used to worship it. it was my only and every source of music. I used to record it onto tapes and then listen back to them all week. how quaint. Memory is hazy, but I remember such things as john power hosting the 'firing squad' with springer, mark macabe ect. on the 'panel'. that sexy voice prob screwed me with girls forever(cos none sound like her), going live to some sessions tour event in 'the music factory carlow' or similar and then loads of late nite sessions sets of every description.
and yeah, it all ended in typical irish smiling assasin sort of way.

I recently found the tony watters set from the grill letterkenny and can not stop playing it.. it would be good to know that all of that music still exists recorded and in a 2fm basement somewhere, so that when I become rich I can pay someone lots of money to re-exist it all for me
