    Ok people. I have a Dell windows xp desk top, and i need to transfer all the 13gb of music over to my os x apple laptop through my router.


    the ether net cable is always in the laptop and the usb is always in the desktop.



    can anyone tell me how to transfer my files please!!

    Yeeesh!

    Dump as much as you can onto a USB stick/memory key at the PC, connect it to the mac and copy into a folder. A 16Gig memory key is about E35 now, or if u have a DVD-RW drive on the XP desktop, that's about 4.7GB per transfer.

    Srsly, otherwise you'd have to know the IP addresses for XP and the OS X laptop, set up a shared folder on either and then get them both to talk. Then there's things like the firewall that might have to be changed to let them access each other. It can be complicated, so USB/DVD-RW is easier.

    This covers how to set up a share on the Mac and drop files into it, and this might help too. Good luck with it.
