PLSS, Will it happen?

I hear there is a 'big announcement' coming on friday about this planet love south gig.. I predict 1 of 2 things:

1 - scaling down of the event to the size of the M50 Exit 15 gig to cater for <5000 to reduce costs and deny anyone a chance to object to the licence, since you don't need one for <5000 people.

or...

2 - the addition of ****** (not full show just a DJ set since he can't get arrested these days..) & Eddie Halliwell (pushing his amazingly original idea to 'edit' the tunes live and make a whole new tour experience,,) for no extra cost..

I have to admit, if they add ******, and Ed-iT to the bill, then it becomes actually good value, and anyone NOT going would be doing themselves..

If they go for [1], then it's egg on faces for anyone that agreed to work for them this year for 150euro, as there will be nowhere to put them,and they will be blanked - enjoy your failure guys.. If it's [2], then there is no contest - the gig will be as important and as act-laden as any of the big Dutch or German events, with the added bonus of some welcome localisation. Then, and only then, will the price be worth it.. As it is, that price is about Double what it's actually worth (taking into account everyone is broke now...)

well i for one am not going even do i still have a blast of artist wrist bands and they used the same ones up north the last 3 years and down here bar the year they had the yokies for around your neck.

anyone know how many tickets are for the gig as it stands?

No clue so far as to what the announcement is.. But according to information gathered, ticket sales for EVERYTHING are on average 40% what they were last year.. This is accross the board, theatre, rock, cinema, dance gigs etc.. Not a healthy situation at all..

Having said all that, the things that are genuinely awesome, and don't fall apart under close examination are still performing well.. (classic rock gigs, public hangings etc.) Sadly, there isn't much of that nowdays.. the sheen is gone from just about everything in the ents. business.. sadly, i think we all KNEW it was bullshit at the time, but we got on with it nonetheless. Now everybody is thinking twice about stuff, and see the true value of what they are offered.

I still maintain if ****** is added to the bill of PLi, it will become worth 100 quid. You all know my opinion of eddie halliwell (who?) but the hype surrounding a ****** performance is enough to make it seem like a real good deal.. Weird thing is - i remember from the very first mentions of a lineup for this PLi gig in the media, halliwell's name being touted, as was armin's, so don't be shocked if they both turn out alongside ******, making it one of those 'if you don't go you have failed at this' gigs.

i have 6 artist bands, if i go ill be putting one on and making a dart for the artist entrance making sure i dont bump into billy dunseath along the route! to be fair, i didnt see him once last year or the year before so i should be fine lol.

I might still go. the girlfriend wants to hit up a few festivals this year, and I wouldn't mind getting to at least one or two dancey type of fests, so regardless of lineups, I might tip along for the day out and camp my arse in the letrik tent
